CBSE (Central Teacher Eligibility Test Syllabus) 2015

CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) will conduct The CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) for appointing Teachers for classes I to VIII. Exam Pattern for CTET exam is as follows:-

  • The Question Paper consist of all Multiple choice Questions (MCQ) each carrying one Mark.
  • There will be no negative marking in the exam.
  • The CTET Exam will be divided into two parts:-

(i)  Paper-I:- This paper is for the persons who intents to be a teacher for Classes I to V.

(ii) Paper-II:- This paper is for the persons who intents to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII.

Important Note:-The person who intents to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Exam Pattern for Paper-I(For classes I to V):-

  • The Time duration for the written test will be 2 Hour 30 minutes.
  • The elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities will be focused in the Test items in language I & II.
  • The Test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.

Exam Syllabus for the written Exam of CTET is as follows:-

Child Development & Pedagogy:- The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years for Paper-I & The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 years for Paper-II. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

Language I & II:- Questions will be asked form Comprehension & Pedagogy of Language Development.

Mathematics:- Syllabus for Mathematics of Paper-I & II is different. There is also difference in level of Questions asked in the exam.
