UPPSC RI Exam Syllabus 2015

UPPSC is going to conduct Written Exam for recruitment of Regional Inspector (Technical) in Transport Department. Exam of  Regional Inspector (Technical) will be held in the month of November, 2015. Written examination will be conducted by UPPSC on 08 November, 2015 . Following is the Latest Exam pattern & Syllabus  Regional Inspector (Technical) :

Exam Scheme:

  • Written Exam – 150 Marks
  • Practical Test – 100 Marks
  • Interview – 30 Marks

Exam Pattern:

  • The written exam will be subjective type.
  • There will be two paper in exam i.e. Paper-I of 50 marks and Paper-II of 100 marks.
  • The time duration will be 02:00 hours (120 minutes) for Paper-I and 03:00 hours (180 minutes) for Paper-II.

Exam Syllabus:

Syllabus of written examination of Regional Inspector (Technical) is as follows :


A paper on Highway Code, the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, Central Motor Vehicle rules, 1989 and Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicle Rules, 1998. (50 Marks: 2 Hours)


A paper consisting of question of the following subject:

(i) Maintenance and upkeep of motor vehicles;
(ii) Principal factors relating to road safety;
(iii) Minor and major repairs of motor vehicle
(iv) Mechanism and working of diesel, Petrol, gas and dual fuel engines.
(v) Service check-up and model routine.
(vi) Vehicular Air and Noise pollution. (100 Marks : 3 Hours)

A practical on motor vehicles: (100 Marks)

1- Driving test on heavy vehicle as per the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act.
Driving Test:- Expert committee should observe and evaluate the candidates for their compliance to
(i) Precautions method before driving
(ii) Precautions method during driving
(iii) Precautions method after driving

2-Dismantling and Assembling of different components using proper tools and following proper safety procedures.

For the dismantling and assembling of different components, a complete written record of each of the activity will be recorded by the candidate. The record will consist of-
(i) Observations of the defective part,
(ii) Diagnosis and fault finding,
(iii) Remedial measures.

Personality Test: (30Marks).
Personality Test will be held by the commission after the Written and Practical Examination on Dates to be communicated in due course and will be confined to such number of candidates only as have qualified in the Written and the practical test, candidates will also have to pass a test in driving heavy transport vehicles.

  • Enhancement of Compensation under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988
  • Offences and Penalties under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988

    Without HMV license , no chance

  3. Sir i have completed diploma and vechile work shop knowledge but i have no HMV license i m elegbile or not pls share your suggestions

    Minimum qualification is diploma but u are b.tech
    This is higher degree than diploma
